On Easter Sunday 2021, God showered our outside family gathering of 35 (including 8 of our 9 great grandchildren) with His continued blessings of love, peace, and perfect weather. Hosts Jeff and Penny truly outdid themselves. As usual, there were plenty of scrumptious fruits, vegetables, and desserts; Jeff grilled hamburgers, hotdogs, barbequed chicken, and Megan and Tony brought the ribs.
Tents were set up for us to comfortably sit and eat under; well-cleared and trimmed yards made for fun Easter egg hunting, games of NERF Howler Football; cousins were holding hands, cousins were looking out for younger cousins, and great grandchildren were bonding with great grandparents that they hadn’t seen in over a year due to COVID. It seems like grandparents, parents, brothers, sisters, aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews had time to catch up with each other.
Corrie, wife of our grandson, Joe, was truly put to the test when it came to remembering names and knowing how each one was interconnected to others. You see, they married 7 years ago on April 12, 2021. They initially lived in Chicago then were transferred to Monterey, California, and just last August transferred again up by Odenton, Md. For this transfer, Joey’s family won the prize for longest distance travelled (66 miles) to be here with us.
Everyone remarked on how much they total enjoyed a wonderful holiday filled with happiness, love, faith, in a setting of warm sunshiny Spring weather.
Believe it or not, there were a few family members who couldn’t attend yesterday. Hopefully we will get together soon. Meanwhile, sending you all lots of love and blessings. Hope you had a joyous and Happy Easter!
